Areas of Practice
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy uses evidence-based kinesiology, exercise programs, mobilization, manual therapy and manipulation, and electrical stimulation to treat acute and chronic pain, injuries, and traumas of various origins. Our skilled therapists treat post-operative and non-operative patients of all kinds to improve physical function, restore mobility, and treat pain.
Physical therapy restores function, improves mobility, relieves pain, prevents permanent disabilities, and helps with the proper use of adaptive devices such as crutches, canes, and wheelchairs.
A Physical Therapist educates patients to maintain function, form, balance, coordination, posture, motor control, and flexibility.
Aquatic Therapy
We are the only clinic in Evergreen that offers the tremendous benefit of aquatic therapy, which reduces the effects of gravity, providing an increased range of motion. This allows for greater relaxation and decreased pain. Water also enhances resistance training to better strengthen weakened muscles while improving balance without a fear of falling or injury.
Trigger Point Dry Needling
Dry needling provides relief from muscular pain and stiffness. Trigger points (muscle “knots”) are sore spots in soft tissue that cause a deep ache and pop up all around an injury. Dry needling these areas can help improve flexibility, increase range of motion, and provide pain relief.
Posture, Balance, and Gait Assessments
The way we hold ourselves is incredibly important. At Bergen Park Physical Therapy, we can assess these fundamental components of physical functioning to evaluate for potential strength and/or flexibility problems. These evaluations give us direction in focusing treatments as well as helping patients build endurance, retrain muscles for repetitive motion, and develop neural memory.
